Register For Lorain County Metro Parks Summer Camps - The Cleveland Moms

Lorain County Metro Parks offers youth summer camps that include a wide variety of activities to promote learning, recreation, and FUN outdoors! Camps are offered for ages from preschool to high school on topics ranging from nature basics to theatre performances. Help keep your kids unplugged this summer. Get them to give up screen time for tree time!

Here is a look at just some of our camp offerings this year!

New to Nature is a one-day camp focused on children living in urban environments. Campers will learn how to identify common poisonous plants they might encounter in Ohio and what to do when they see a wild animal while exploring. They will also learn basic trail and water safety. (ages 6-12)

In our Nature Camp: Explorers and Nature Camp: Adventurers, campers will discover nature through hands-on activities, hiking, educational programs, and more! These programs are great for nature newbies and frequent adventurers. (ages 4-8)

Junior Naturalist Camp allows students to experience a behind-the-scenes look at what our naturalist staff does every day! This program is perfect for those students with a natural curiosity of nature and those with similar dreams for “when I grow up!” At the end of this program, campers will have the opportunity to present their own mini-program. (ages 11-13)

Theatre Camp will allow participants to channel their creativity into a youth theatre production of Madagascar. Campers will work on their acting, dancing, singing, and set design at French Creek Theatre. (ages 8-18)

History Camp: Early Ohio Life allows campers to explore life as it was over 200 years ago. Students will enjoy pioneer cooking, candle making, compass skills, old-fashioned games, and more! (ages 7-12)

Teen Paddling Camp is a 3-day introduction to the basics of kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding. Camp includes safety training and rescue practice before jump-in for on-the-water experience at Wellington Reservation. (ages 13-17)

Raptor Camp is a behind-the-scenes look at the Carlisle Raptor Center. Campers will learn all about raptors during this 2-day camp by experiencing the daily operations and training of our Raptor Center animal ambassadors. (12-15)

Summer Camp registration opens February 10 for Lorain County Residents and February 17 for everyone!
