ODOT's Slogan Move Over Slow Down - The Cleveland Moms

Spring is here is NE Ohio. With the warmer weather, it also brings “Orange Barrel Season”. As ODOT works to improve our roads we ask that everyone does their part to keep people safe.

To Many Close Calls

Moving Over or Slowing Down is not a suggestion itโ€™s the law. Countless ODOT employees have had close calls with the motoring public, while they complete their jobs so you can have a safe and reliable transportation system. ODOT Crews were struck 153 times last year. That means an ODOT employee was hit or their vehicle was struck while working on the roads. Sadly John Pasko was killed while performing tree and brush removal on I-680 in Mahoning County on March 15, 2018.

Road Workers Are Your Neighbors

ODOT workers are no different than any other employee at a business, they want to perform their task and go home and spend time with their family and friends. The next time you see flashing lights on the side of the road no matter if itโ€™s a tow truck, dump truck, garbage truck, police car, fire truck or ODOT vehicle the law clearly state to Move Over or SLOW DOWN. Our lives depend on you making that decision. Please take a moment and watch the video to hear first-hand experiences of slow down move over.

I Am Your Neighbor

Please share ODOT’s video with your family. We all need a reminder to do our part to Move Over Slow Down.
