Local Business Spotlight: Sing & Swing - The Cleveland Moms

Director of Sing & Swing, Jennifer Woda, says that the best way for children to explore their musical development is through play. Unstructured, repeated, child-centered practice is the formula for music development success.

Sing & Swing’s Music Together classes are fun, play-based, developmentally appropriate music, & movement classes.

“We sing, we dance, we play instruments, & we join in community to support the musical development of every child in the room,” Jennifer shares. “You get to play in class once a week & you receive a songbook and recordings of the music so you can make music at home. We welcome babies, toddlers, preschoolers, & kindergartners ages 0-5 in our Mixed Ages classes. Older kids ages 4-8 can participate in Rhythm Kids classes, which continue musical development by adding drumming & musical games to the other musical activities we do. Parents, grandparents, caregivers, & siblings are all invited to be musical role models for the young children, all guided by your Music Together teacher, an early childhood music specialist. Come make Music Together with us!”

TheClevelandMoms.com had the chance to share a Music Together class with a good friend who has two little ones. Here’s what Rocky River mom, Autumn, had to say about her experience with Sing & Swing:

“I had the pleasure of being able to take my two children to a course of classes at Sing and Swing. Jenny was amazing, warm and welcoming. She always kept the lines of communication open to us and was a wonderful teacher.

My son has Autism and is non-verbal. I always worry that his stimming and verbalizations will bother other people or we will be asked questions. The entire group of parents and children were so wonderful to him and our daughter. We had an absolutely lovely experience just in that aspect.

The music curriculum was fantastic. Singing, dancing, and instruments were involved. Jenny encouraged every child to participate no matter what age they were and was engaged with the parent. I highly recommendย ย trying them out!”
