About Musicologie
Musicologie was founded by husband and wife duo Joseph and Kay Barker in 2014 in Grandview Heights, OH, to provide ‘simply delightful’ music lessons to infants, children and adults, instilling a love of music for everyone. Lessons are taught in-studio or virtually using ‘The Musicologie Method,’ rooted in a safe environment and education through play. With 6 music studios currently open and 100 certified teachers, Musicologie has taught more than 7000 students. Musicologie has been recognized by Inc Magazine, Columbus Parenting Mag, and Alive Best of Columbus, and is in the process of growing beyond their Ohio roots to spread their passion for simply delightful music lessons.
About Musicologie Cleveland Heights
Musicologie Cleveland Heights started as Fairmount School of Music, which was founded by Kevin Richards in 1988, and became part of the Musicologie family in the fall of 2020. Musicologie Cleveland Heights provides music lessons for instruments and voice to students of all ages and abilities through certified teachers who focus on experience, development and leadership.
How Do Lessons Work?
The first step is to schedule an assessment lesson. Don’t worry! It isn’t a test, but rather a chance to meet your teacher, discuss your goals, develop your individualized learning path, and get a feel for what lessons are like. After your assessment lesson, you can sign up for a lesson membership, which gives you one lesson per week at the same time with the same teacher. This is fantastic if your schedule requires consistency. Can’t attend a lesson one week? No worries! Musicologie’s flexible scheduling options enable you to reschedule your lesson for another day as long as you cancel at least 24 hours in advance. You can also use that reschedule to try out something new!
If your schedule is hectic and you want to get started with lessons, but can’t commit to a regularly scheduled lesson, you can always sign up for drop-in lessons! Drop-ins allow for complete schedule flexibility, and you’ll only schedule lessons when you know you can come in!
