PUMPKINS & PIRANHAS
Thursday – Sunday, October 26 – 29, 5 – 8pm
Monday, October 30, 5 – 8pm (Sensory Friendly Session)
Pint-sized superheroes, astronauts, witches and mummies are invited to explore Lake “Eerie” and the deep “boo” sea during Pumpkins & Piranhas, Thursday – Sunday, October 26 – 29 from 5 – 8pm (last admission at 7pm).
A KultureCity Sensory Inclusive™ certified venue, the Aquarium is also offering a sensory friendly Halloween experience on Monday, October 30 from 5 – 8pm with limited noise, softened lighting and adjusted activities to ensure a comfortable environment for those who could benefit from a reduction in external stimuli.
The not-so-spooky afterhours celebration featuring underwater jack-o-lanterns, diver interactions, Halloween-themed décor and music, Nora the Explorer animal encounters, a rotating array of nightly activities ranging from face painting to magic and substantial treat bags for costumed kiddos. Advance tickets are required to ensure we prepare enough take-home treat bags for our younger guests.
Visitors of any age can pick up a visit activity booklet that spotlights misunderstood animals.
While Pumpkins & Piranhas is an in-person event, the Aquarium’s Education team will also host a separate online “Wild, Weird & Creepy Creatures” program exploring the salamander’s slimy skin, the octopus’s ability to color change and other amazing adaptations.
