The Memorial Day Parade is one of the most revered events in the city. With many residents and those close to residents having passed while serving our country, Memorial Day is nothing short of one of the most important days for the city. With a parade and dedication of names on the city’s monument, the day is all about honoring those who have served and paid the ultimate sacrifice. In past years the parade has featured the bands from Parma, Normandy and Valley Forge High Schools, Police and Fire vehicles, a fly over and many local organizations marching. As the cities memorial says and our parade sets out to remind us “All gave some, some gave all.”
The parade will step off from St. Columbkille at 10:30am and travel south down Broadview Road to turn left onto Hillside Road, then right onto Summitview Drive where it will end in front of City Hall. The dedication ceremony will begin following the parade in front of our Veteran’s monument.
