Cinnamon Roll Crawl Around Cleveland - The Cleveland Moms

I will start off by saying this was inspired by a cinnamon roll bracket sheet I saw on Instagram a few years ago.

I have a lot of feels about cinnamon rolls (like not being a fan of cream cheese frosting) & quite a few of you asked for a little write-up to save you time, energy, gas, & disappointments. These are all locations that I have personally visited & of course is not inclusive of every single place to get a cinnamon roll around Cleveland. Alright, let’s get going!

WEST SIDE

Larder – Hingetown

This is a cream cheese frosting cinnamon roll. Would recommend if you like that. Closed Mondays & Sundays.

Martha On The Fly – Tremont

This was just okay for me. My husband enjoyed it though. Their website says the frosting is an orange zest + vanilla bean.

Terrapin Bakery – Tremont

This one is more iced/glazed rather than a traditional frosting. Almost has a hint of a citrus flavor. Wasn’t my favorite but maybe could be yours!

Leavened – Tremont

If you don’t like the traditional frosting & like a citrusy flavor, you’ll love this one. I know many people rave about the cinnamon rolls here but it’s not my taste. Closed Mondays.

Goldie’s Donuts & Bakery – Ohio City

A very solid choice. These are HUGE – more of a donut type taste to them with a glaze vs frosting but worth a try!

Breadsmith – Lakewood

This was the most unique of the bunch. Sort of a cinnamon roll tower, this one is definitely worth a try just go early in the day so it’s fresh. Closed Mondays.

KB Confections – Lakewood

Offered on Saturdays only, the cinnamon rolls here are a traditional style but have cream cheese frosting. Not my favorite but worth a try if you enjoy cream cheese frosting.

Goodkind Coffee – Lakewood

The cinnamon rolls are a traditional style with a standard icing/glaze. Very subtle cinnamon flavor. Not bad but the consistency of the roll itself wasn’t my favorite.

Becker’s Donuts – Fairview Park

This is another donut type of cinnamon roll vs a traditional style. It wasn’t my favorite but I know many do like it. Closed Mondays.

Bigmouth Donut – Rocky River

If it weren’t for the cream cheese frosting, this one would be at the top. The roll itself was absolutely delicious but the cream cheese frosting killed it for me. Again, if you like cream cheese frosting, highly recommend! Closed Mondays & Tuesdays.

Kathy’s – Rocky River

This is a great contender for a standard cinnamon roll taste. The shape was a little different but definitely worth a try with classic icing/glaze! Closed Sundays & Mondays.

Erie Island Coffee – Rocky River & Elyria

This cinnamon roll resembled the tower-like cinnamon roll from Breadsmith. I’m not sure if it was exactly the same but very similar. Very unique – would definitely recommend trying it out!

Mrs. Scott’s Sweets – North Ridgeville

This was a solid, traditional cinnamon roll. Not extraordinary but not bad either. A classic worth grabbing if you’re in the area. Closed Mondays.

Kelsey Elizabeth – multiple locations

Available only on Saturdays here. These are one of my favorite cinnamon rolls around. The size is generous, frosting plentiful, & absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

Chez Michel – Avon

Another favorite of mine. The roll itself is super tasty & the classic frosting is delish! Closed Mondays.

Spudnuts – Berea

This is another donut type of cinnamon roll. It was just fine for me – not the worst but not the best.

Magdalen’s – Lorain

Overall, a pretty good choice of a traditional cinnamon roll. I couldn’t pinpoint the exact flavor of the frosting but almost just tasted like cinnamon. Cinnamon rolls are only available on Saturdays after 9am here.

Marta’s N More – Lorain

A traditional cinnamon roll with classic icing on top. Has a hint of citrusy flavor. Not bad at all & they’re huge in size. They’re only open Thursdays-Sundays with a rotating menu so not exactly sure on availability.

Kiedrowski’s – Amherst

This is a donut style cinnamon roll. It barely had any cinnamon flavor to me. Closed Mondays & Tuesdays.

Hometown Bakery – Vermilion

Traditional cinnamon roll here – the frosting/icing was not my favorite but maybe could be yours! Only available on Saturdays.

Gathering Grounds Coffee Houseย – Huron

This is a very small cinnamon roll compared to most out there. The texture was very similar to Pillsbury ones. I couldn’t pinpoint the icing but it wasn’t cream cheese, more of a vanilla. Just okay for me.

Trabel’s Bagels – Huron

This is a *giant* cinnamon roll with a ton of cream cheese frosting. The roll itself tasted like challah. Not my favorite due to the cream cheese but if you’re in the area worth a try if you like that!

Coffee Express – Port Clinton & Marblehead

This one is more of a traditional cinnamon but the icing is just drizzled on. I’d say worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Pickle & Chip’s Field Trip – Marblehead

This was a decent cinnamon roll. The icing wasn’t cream cheese & the roll is a traditional style, would definitely try again!

EAST SIDE

Presti’s Bakery – Little Italy

This was a pretty good traditional cinnamon roll. Nothing outstanding but worth grabbing if you’re in the area.

Goldie’s Donuts & Bakery – Lyndhurst

A very solid choice. These are HUGE – more of a donut type taste to them with a glaze vs frosting but worth a try!

Haute Donuts – Shaker Heights

Another donut style of cinnamon roll with a standard glaze. I found it to be very greasy/oily so not my favorite.

Lizzie’s Bakery – Shaker Heights

Very solid choice! They use a vanilla frosting that is delicious. The cinnamon roll itself is also very tasty, would definitely recommend trying! Cinnamon rolls are available only on Sundays from 9am-1pm here.

Michael’s Bakeshop – Willoughby

Cinnamon rolls are bulk of what they do here. Their glaze is a buttery vanilla mix. Very unique & definitely worth a try! Closed Monday & Tuesdays.

Evergreen Bakery – Chagrin Falls

These are with cream cheese frosting. I can’t give too much critique on the cinnamon roll portion of it because the cream cheese frosting was quite overpowering.

SOUTH SIDE

Jubilee Donuts – multiple locations

The cinnamon rolls here are more like a donut style but I found the texture to be more pillowy & cake-like. Pretty good if you’re in the area, definitely also try a devils food cake donut here, too! Closed Sundays & Mondays.

The West Side Bakery – Akron

This is a fairly traditional style of cinnamon roll. The dough felt more of like a strudel but not bad! It has a standard, white frosting.

I am just one person but if you’re looking for my opinion that is a little limited since I don’t like cream cheese frosting, my current top 2 are Kelsey Elizabeth & Chez Michel.
