Pool days and summer playdates call for fun food and delicious drinks. If you want to take your juice box and water routine up a notch, this Lemonade Stand Snack Board from The BakerMama is a kidsโ dream drink option. โBoards are such a fun, interactive way to serve food, especially during the summer when everyone is grazing and on the go,โ says Maegan Brown, the talented mom behind The BakerMama.
If youโre busy (and who isnโt this season?), you can prep your ingredients ahead of time. โArrange most of the chilled ingredients on the board in advance and keep the whole board covered in the refrigerator. I recommend waiting to add some items like cookies, crackers, pretzels, or popcorn until just before serving so they stay fresh or crisp,โ says Maegan.
Her own crew loves fresh fruit, popcorn, pretzels, crackers, cheese cubes, trail mix, frozen grapes, and individual snack packs for grab-and-go snacks. And of course, this adorable Lemonade Stand Snack Board. Maegan says keeping the lemonade cold does require some planning. โServe it in a pitcher filled and surrounded by plenty of ice or in an insulated dispenser with ice. I also like freezing some lemonade into ice cubes so the drink stays cold without getting diluted,โ she suggests.
Although her family favorite is Chick-fil-A Lemonade, she prefers to make homemade. โFreshly squeezed lemon juice is always worth the extra effort for the best flavor. โIf youโre looking for a fun twist on classic lemonade, my Fresh Mint Lemonadeย recipe is one of my favoritesโitโs bright, refreshing, and perfect for hot summer days,โ says Maegan.
To lower the sugar on this particular snack board, she recommends reducing the sugar in the lemonade, or diluting with sparkling water. And if the candy is too much, customize the board with more fresh fruit, cheese cubes, popcorn, or other low-sugar alternatives. Says Maegan: โThe goal is to create a fun, festive spread that works for your family, so feel free to mix and match based on your preferences.โ
