Saddle up this weekend for Horsefest presented by Ken Ganley Chrysler Painesville at Lake Metroparks Farmpark. Meet horses of all sizes and different breeds at this equine extravaganza. Learn about training techniques and riding disciplines. Watch riders compete on a trail obstacle exhibition and more!
Watch demonstrations that represent a time when horses were vital to transportation, working livestock and power on the farm. Meet different breeds and sizes from miniature to draft while you learn about training techniques and riding disciplines. See riders compete in an obstacle course and demonstrate the skill and trust between the horse and rider.
Visit the mule and donkey pavilion before taking a ride on one of the many wagons being pulled by Farmpark’s own horses. Witness how police use horses to control crowds and view games and training presented by the Governor Generals Horse Guards Cavalry Squadron from Canada in Farmpark’s new outdoor horse arena.
The event will include pony rides ($6), children’s activities and much more! With all the hands-on activities, demonstrations, breeds, and sizes of horses, it may take Horse enthusiasts can both days to experience it all!

- Draft horse harnessing – 9:30 am
- Drive a mini – 10:30 to 11:15 am
- Wild Dream Trick Riders – 11 am, 1 & 3:45 pm
- Wagonette rides (weather permitting) – 11 am to 3 pm
- Trail obstacle exhibition – 11 am to 12 pm
- Canadian Governor General’s Horse Guards Cavalry Squadron skill games & training – 11:30 am & 4:15 pm
- Roman riding – 11:45 am
- Meet the breed – 12 to 1:30 pm
- Six-horse hitch hitching process – 1 to 2 pm
- Parade of breeds – 2 pm
- Horse & hound relay – 2:45 pm
- CDE combined driving demonstration – 3:30 pm
